Phyllis (Meier) Manthey, Wabeno, died Friday April 19, 2013 at Nu Roc Nursing Home in Blackwell, WI. Phyllis was born November 7, 1925 to Raymond and Alice (Wills) Schroder in Tipler, WI.

She married Arnold Meier Sr.; he preceded her in death on February 3, 1981. On May 19, 1984, she married Elmer J. Manthey; he preceded her in death September 30, 2005.

Phyllis was a very active member of the community. She was a member of the LMT Snowmobile Club, was an office for the Senior Citizens of Wabeno, a rescue squad dispatcher and election worker. Phyllis even reported the area news for the local paper. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, and especially her extended family at the Double Buck Restaurant in Laona. Phyllis also did custom sewing and repairs.

Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law: Arnold Meier Jr., Monico, Paul (Jacci) Meier, Oconto, Roy (Char) Meier, Lena, Bruce (Deanna) Meier, Menasha, Allan Meier (special friend Denise Lornson), Pickerel. Two sisters and brother-in-law: Joyce Ehrhart, Wabeno, Elta (Herbert) Miller, Wabeno. One Brother and sister-in-law: Robert (Willie) Schroder, Kaukauna, step-daughter Pat Manthey, Wabeno; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren with a new grandson, Grant, due on April 30th; and 2 great-great- grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, 2 brothers: Orville and Raymond Schroder, Jr.; 1 sister, Ida Mae, daughter-in-law, Caroline Meier and an infant daughter, Ruth.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 25 from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Weber Hill Funeral Home, Wabeno. Visitation will continue Friday, April 26 from 10-11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Wabeno until the time of service. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jason Blahnik officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the church cemetery. Weber-Hill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
