Marcks, Richard W. "Dick"

Richard W. Marcks, age 78, New London died on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at St. Joseph Residence, following a several month illness. Dick was born on April 26, 1934, in Cicero Township, Outagamie County, son of the late Gordon and Lorraine (Lorenz) Marcks. On July 30, 1960, he was united in marriage to Dorla Steinberg at Bethlehem Church, Hortonville. Dick worked for Murphy's Concrete and Construction for 40 years, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed fishing, camping with his family, playing cards and watching Packers, Brewers and other sports. He served his country in the US Navy.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dorla; daughters, Cheryl (Tom) Mueller, Appleton; Amy (Brian) Huber, Waukesha; 2 brothers, Robert Marcks and Gerald "Bucky" (Sue) Marcks both of New London; 2 sisters, Ginny Peters, Rockton, IL and Fern (Dave) Rusch, New London. He is further survived by six grandchildren: Christopher Mueller, Kelsey Mueller, Jesselyn Burr, Laura Huber, Michael Huber, and Aaron Huber, and also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Dick will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph Residence for all the wonderful care they gave to Dick.
