Diane F. "Cookie" "Susie" Kappell

Diane Kappell, 59, Menasha, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. She was born January 16, 1954, in England, daughter of the late Norbert "Nubs" and Leona (Dombrowski) Kappell. Nubs called her "Daddy's Little Princess", and her face always lit up when he called her that. Diane was involved in the Special Olympics, YARC through ARC, and the Boys' and Girls' Brigade. She was an in home communion server and a traveler of the world. She enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, riding in the back of her sister's limo and going for motorcycle rides. She attended Lions Camp and Camp Onaway, and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks.

Diane is survived by her brothers and sister: Dean (Michelle) Kappell, Neenah; Norbert (Maria) Kappell, Florida; Jeanne (Barry) Jadin, Appleton; nieces and nephews: Justine (Gary), Lynette, Jennifer (Steve), Trina (Jim), Eric (Heather), Jason (Nicole), Andrew (special friend Erin), Lydia, Joe (Jennifer), Marilynn and Peter; great nieces and nephews: Megan, Dylan, Sierra, Cora, Alexandra, Arianna, Nicholas, Kaleb, Jaxon, Logan, Brynn, Blake, Andie, Giovanni and Bella; boyfriend of 35 years, Tim Lafflin; special dog, Molly; many other special family members and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: James and Joseph Kappell; grandmother, Jennie Dombrowski Cobus; an aunt, Julie Dombrowski; dog, Katie.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with Tony Gutierrez officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 p.m. noon until the time of the service. A memorial has been established in Diane's name.

The Kappell family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Tony and Nan Gutierrez, Dr. Brian Scott and staff, Dr. Brian Jenkins, Dr. Mattio and Cathy, 2nd floor nursing staff at Theda Clark Medical Center, Dr. Geller, Dr. Ada Hall, Heartland Hospice staff, Matthews Adare staff, Valley Transit staff, and all others who have touched Diane's life.

"Diane, God will take care of you until we can hold you again! You truly are our "Precious Little Angel" in the middle of a flower. You've taught us how to respect and cherish the simple things in life! We love you very much! All our love, your family."

To know her is to love her, and to love her is to really know her.
