Moore, Glen E.
Glen Earl Moore, age 85, died peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center with his family at his side.
Glen was born September 1, 1927 in Sheboygan, WI; son of the late Warren and Ruth (Gade) Moore. Following his education, Glen served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He was united in marriage to Marian G. Carew on January 14, 1948 in Oshkosh. They enjoyed 60 years together. They built and ran the "Shamrock" bar in Waukau and also owned an Artic Cat dealership. He also was a general contractor with Midwest Central Builders and had a ginseng garden as well. Following his retirement, Glen became the Building inspector and Town Chairman for the Township of Fairbanks in Shawano County. Most important to Glen, was his family. His wife, son, grandchildren and beautiful great-grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a member of the Oshkosh Eagles Club, Caroline Lions and the American Legion Club of Omro. Glen had a few great hobbies, but enjoyed hunting and fishing the most.
Glen is lovingly survived by his son, Darwin Moore, Menasha; seven grandchildren, Vince (Wendy) Moore, Menasha; Nichol Moore, North Dakota; Michelle Mueller, Sherwood; Robert (Ashley) Moore, Appleton; Cherie Moore and Desiree Moore, both of North Dakota; and Blake (Kayliegh) Moore, Neenah, 11 great-grandchildren, and by three sisters, Elaine, IL; Dorothy and Darlene, Oshkosh; and by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Marian in March of 2008; a grandson, Glen, a sister, June and two brothers, Don and Leon Moore.
A graveside service will be held 11:00AM (Today) Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manawa, WI with Rev. Jim Besaw officiating. Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at: www.valleyfh.com.
