Schwantes, Ernst L.

Ernst L. Schwantes, 68 of Casco, formerly of Appleton, died Sunday February 16, 2014 at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay. He was born in Two Rivers, WI on July 10, 1945, son of the late Ernst and Irene (Blair) Schwantes. Ernst married Donna Seidel on July 17, 1972.

Ernst and Donna were members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma. They enjoyed traveling throughout the state, and visiting the many state parks; they also enjoyed taking walks together, and spending time with friends and family. Ernst also enjoyed painting.

Ernst is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Donna, Casco; his son, Jonathan, Casco (special friend, Jill Wiedemeier)and her three children, Tyler Wiedemeier, Allica, and Erik Longcore; three sisters, Joyce (Norman) Mathews, Altoona, Marian (James) Close, Mishicot, and Kay (Richard) Sheffer, Manitowoc; and one brother, Carl (Irene) Schwantes, Valders. He is further survived by one sister-in-law, Ellen (Ken) Stecker; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service for Ernst will be 11:00 AM on Friday February 21, 2014 at ST. PAUL'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 406 4th Street, Algoma, with Rev. John Moll officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
