Shultz, Maurice "Maury"

Maurice M. "Maury" Shultz, age 78, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at St. Luke's Medical Center. He was born on December 31, 1936, to Milo Walden Shultz and Ruth Train Shultz in Wessington Springs, South Dakota.

Maury was employed most of his career by A.C. Nielsen Co. He was also active in the community including: United Way, President of the Fond du Lac Personnel Association, President of Fond du Lac Safety Association, and played on the Nielsen Golf League for many years. Recently, he became a board member of the Fond du Lac Senior Center. He played on the senior pool league and also on the senior golf league for several years. The things he enjoyed most were any contact with his children and grandchildren. He also loved spending time with his nieces, April Iberra, Aubrey Fleischer, and their families, and nephew, Brandon Ritchhart. One of his many passions included his annual South Dakota pheasant hunting trip to the Yost Ranch near Miller with immediate and extended family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Ruthe Shultz, his three children, Chad (Shirl) Shultz of Conyers, GA, Cleve (Donna) Shultz of Alpharetta, GA, and Cassandra "Casey" (Steve) Shultz Bassetto of Neenah, WI, his sisters-in-law, Marsha Carlson and Marilyn Ritchhart, and his brother, Donald Shultz (Frankie) of Rapid City, South Dakota. Maury is further survived by 7 grandchildren, Camric Shultz (27), Kelsea Shultz (25), Maxx Shultz (22), Karson Bassetto (18), Hunter Shultz (15), Kaden Bassetto (11) and Avery Shultz (8), his mother-in-law, Reva Gross, and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law, Donald Hofer, his father-in-law, Pete A. Hofer, and his brother-in-law, Rick Carlson.

Visitation: Maury's family will welcome relatives and friends on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM.

Service: A funeral service will take place at the funeral home following visitation at 3:00 PM, with Father Ed Smith officiating.

The Multiple Sclerosis Society held a special place in Maury's heart due to his daughter, Cassandra's fight with the disease over the past 20 years. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the National MS Society. www.nationalmssociety.org.

Dear Ruthe,
Cathy Zimmerman sent us a copy of Maury's obituary . We have not seen you in many years, but Cathy visited us last week and your names came up in our conversation. We were sorry to hear of
Maury's passing and send our deepest sympathies . Jerry was very fond of Maury and we had some good times as well.
