Janet Glaze, age 73, a child of God, was called home to her heavenly Father on May 11, 2017 at Century Oaks Assisted Living. Janet was born in Norfolk, NE on February 16, 1944 to the late Richard and Irene (Dreesen) Glaze. She spent her formative years in Nebraska, followed by nursing school at Kenosha Vocational, obtaining her LPN license. She continued her schooling in Ann Arbor and Detroit, Michigan. She then returned to Milwaukee, working as an industrial nurse at Western Metals Corporation for 12 years. Following this, she worked in several nursing homes until physical limitations due to Lupus ended her career. In later years she moved to Appleton to be closer to her family.

Janet enjoyed music, birds, flowers, her cats and Nascar's #20, Matt Kenseth. She loved her family and spending time with them. She was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Appleton.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry (Marlene) Glaze, Menasha and further survived by her nieces:Sheryl (Todd) Jaskolski, Kerri (Rick) Lorge and Pam (Steve) Nickles; her nephew, Randall (Jennifer) Glaze, and their children.

Funeral Services for Janet will be held Tuesday May 16th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Home, 606 N. Oneida St, Appleton WI 54911 with Pastor Sellnow officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 until the time of service.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Heartland Hospice, Community Care Service social worker, Jackie, the staff at Century oaks Assisted Living, friends at Ridgeview Highlands, and Mount Olive pastoral staff for their loving care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be considered to Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod or Mt Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church.
