ANTKIEWICZ, JUSTINE MARY - Pittsburgh  
ANTKIEWICZ JUSTINE MARY Age 98, formerly of Ambridge, died Monday, November 17, 2014, in Villa St. Joseph. She was born October 6, 1916, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Zydanowicz Osiecki. She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where she was a eucharistic minister, belonged to the bible study group, the Christian Mothers Ladies Guild and volunteered for all parish festivals. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, and gardening. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, James and Renee Antkiewicz of Center Twp.; two grandchildren, Leah Antkiewicz of Seattle, WA and Vincent Antkiewicz of Cleveland, OH; a sister, Dolores Osiecki of Port Vue, PA; two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Gozur of Yorba Linda, CA and Juanita Osiecki of Florida; two goddaughters, Liz Fox of Monroeville and Diane Stanley of Yorba Linda, CA; and several other nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Chester J. Antkiewicz; a daughter, Mary Carol Antkiewicz; three brothers, Norman, Ben, and Alfred Osiecki; and two sisters, Sally Gaidos and Gertrude Fox. There will be no visitation. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, in the Good Samaritan Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial starting at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Catholic Cemetery. ALLEN MARJORIE J. (KENNEDY) Marjorie J. "Nanners" Allen, age 89, resident of Seneca Hills Village, formerly of Edgewood, died Friday, November 14, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Tom B. Allen for 66 years; loving mother of Peggy Heidish and her husband, Maurice, and Marsha Dawson; dear grandmother of Zachary, Isabell and Don; great- grandmother of Honey. Marjorie is also survived by nieces and nephews. She truly enjoyed being with and taking care of people, and will be lovingly remembered by countless neighbors and friends, many of whom became part of her extended family. Friends received Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, 7441 Washington St., Swissvale. ALTENBURGER, DONALD C. - Pittsburgh  
ALTENBURGER DONALD C. On Saturday, October 25, 2014, peacefully in his sleep. He is once again with his beloved wife, Diddy. He joined the Army Air Corps in his senior year of high school. He received his flight training at Cape Girardeau, MO, where he learned to fly an A26 medium bomber. From there he was stationed in England with the 356th Martin Marauders bomber group. While there he switched to flying a B26 bomber as the command pilot. After the war he married Daisy Beaird and lived in Penn Hills. He Joined the Air Force Reserves at Greater Pittsburgh's 911th MAC base and Flew C119s and then C124s until he retired from the service in 1985 as a Lt. Colonel. During this time he worked at Hall Laboratories, which later would be Calgon Corp. until they were bought by Merck. He was a chemical engineer that specialized in industrial water treatment. He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy, 20 years earlier. He is survived by his sister, Christine Altenburger; two sons, Larry, his wife, Gail, their daughter, Carley, and Denis and his wife, Wendy Walker. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be acknowledged to Alzheimer's research, Breast Cancer, or the American Heart Association. There will be no Funeral Service. (late Harry) Ostaffe; aunt of Michael (Karen) Ostaffe, Harry (Barbara) Ostaffe and Lynn Rizzo; great- aunt of Matthew, Kayla, Kaycie, Kate, Michael, and Xander. Janet retired from Bell Telephone Company with 35 years of service and enjoyed playing Bingo and making pierogies. ARTMAN-RUIZ, L. JEAN - North Jackson  
ARTMAN-RUIZ L. JEAN A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, November 21, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Catherine Church in Lake Milton, Ohio, for L. Jean Artman-Ruiz, who passed away at Woodlands at Austinwoods November 15, 2014, with the Reverend David Merzweiler officiating. Jean was born March 8, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late William and Loretta (Mundy) Artman. She was one of 11 children and was preceded in death by her six brothers, William, James, Edward, Robert, Raymond and Bruce; and two sisters, Crystal Denryter and Anna Marie Santa Maria. Jean dedicated 27 years to the Order of Saint Francis as a Sister and was formerly known as Sister Marie Bernard, O.S.F as a educator in the Catholic Schools in Pittsburgh, PA and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Jean received her Bachelor's Degree in English from Duquesne University and her Master's Degree from the University of Puerto Rico in Education. She also spent many years as an educator with the United States Military teaching at Fort Buchanan U.S Army Base, San Juan, Puerto Rico and also at the University of Puerto Rico. Jean loved her family and especially enjoyed spending summers, Christmases and special occasions with them in the States. Jean will be sadly missed by her husband, Edwin Ruiz-Rivera; her sister, Margaret N. Hochendoner of Lake Milton, OH; brother, Bernard C. Artman of Pittsburgh, PA; and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Family and friends may pay their respects Friday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in St. John Vianney Catholic Cemetery, St. Georges Section, Pittsburgh, PA. Arrangements are being handled by HIGGINS - REARDON FUNERAL HOMES, North Jackson Chapel.
