FERRARO MARGARET ALOE On Tuesday, November 18, 2014, Margaret Aloe Ferraro, of Highland Park, died at Forbes Hospice. She was born in Pittsburgh on February 12, 1920, the daughter of Thomas and Eleanor D'Alessio Aloe. She is survived by her son, Francis T. Ferraro, M.D. (Eve); grandsons, F. Alexander "Alex" Ferraro and Anthony "Tony" Ferraro; and her sister, Gilda Ognibene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis P. Ferraro, M.D.; her brothers, Eugene, William, Julius and Arthur Aloe; and sisters, Anne DeLuca and Mary Grace Nucci. Friends will be received at JOHN A. FITZGERALD, JANET M. - Pittsburgh  
FITZGERALD JANET M. Of Fox Chapel, passed away on Tuesday, November 18 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Janet was predeceased by her ever loving husband, Patrick J. Fitzgerald; and her parents, Henry B. and Anne (Sabatasso) Martone. She is survived by her four devoted children, Patrick G. Fitzgerald (Roseann) of Boston, Anthony H. Fitzgerald (Linda), Anne Duggan (Kevin), and Francesca McTighe (and William S. McTighe). She had been blessed with eight amazing grandchildren with whom she personally enjoyed all aspects of their interests and accomplishments, Michael Anthony Fitzgerald, Charles Loughney Duggan, Peter Kane Duggan, Colleen Anne Duggan, Patrick Flynn Duggan, Brady McTighe Dolan (husband Erik), Tara Rose McTighe; and Julia Fitzgerald McTighe; she is also survived by her brothers, Henry Martone (Jean) and Dr. Louis Martone (Christine); additionally, she is survived by her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Stock, Catherine Stehle, Annamae DePellegrini (John), Rose Marie Treser (Tony), and Bernadette McMillan; and many more loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Janet was born and raised on Larimer Avenue in a traditionally extended Italian family. She quickly learned how to get along with others and how the preparation and planning of family meals celebrated the family warmth and love she enjoyed throughout her life. Her marriage to her extraordinary Irishman, Pat Fitzgerald, composed a special legacy of love that is treasured by her children and grandchildren, and extended to both of their larger extended families. Although her deep love and heartwarming company will be forever missed, her family takes great comfort in her reunion with Pat and their eternal guidance from above. Friends received Friday, November 21, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the WEDDELL - AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave., Aspinwall, where a Parting Prayer will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Scholastica Church, 309 Brilliant Ave., Aspinwall. FOUGÈRES MICHEL Writer and professor emeritus at Carnegie Mellon University, Michel passed with grace on Sunday, November 16, 2014, with his loving wife, Regine at his side. Born in Paris on January 28, 1924, Michel navigated wartime Europe to later fight in and then write against the French war in Indochina. Emigrating to New York City in 1951, Michel earned his doctoral degree in comparative literature at New York University. Michel subsequently taught French and French Literature at Carnegie Mellon between 1969 and 1989, including leading study abroad trips for his students to Paris and the Loire Valley. A loving husband, devoted father, and exceptional storyteller, Michel in his earlier years was an avid swing dancer, and throughout his life was a connoisseur of classical music, German and French cinema, literature, philosophy, and history. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Regine Dalchow Fougeres; his son, Michel Werner Fougeres, and his wife, Erin, and their children, Devin and Emma, who live in St. Petersburg, FL; and his son, Dorian Fougeres, who lives in Encinitas, CA. He was loved by his family, friends and students, and brought laughter and surprise to the lives of many. Services and interment private. Arrangements by JOHN A.
