GARDY EDITH (WARD) After many years of declining health, on Friday, July 3, 2015, age 95, went home to be with the Lord and to be united with her beloved husband, Joe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith (Schuetz) and Howard Ward; brothers, Howard "Junior" and Charles. A lifelong resident of Mt. Washington, graduating the Class of 1937 from South Hills High School, she was a member of Bailey Avenue, Presbyterian Church, and served as Worthy Matron of Adah Chapter #54 O.E.S. Edith and Joe enjoyed 60 years of marriage and worked together at the Plymouth Blind Co. which they founded in 1948. She is survived by son, David (Bernadette) Gardy; daughter, Elizabeth (Jim) Murphy; and four grandchildren, Michele, Christopher, James and Peter; and four great-grandchildren; plus nieces, nephews and many friends who have remained in contact with her during her ten years in the nursing home at Masonic Village of Sewickley. Wife of the late Marion "Mutt" Gerardi; loving mother of Michael Gerardi (Young) and Maryanna Klevens (Jay); beloved grandmother of Mesong Gerardi, David Gerardi and the late Daniel Gerardi; loving sister of Evelyn "Doodles" Shoop; also survived by all her loving nieces and nephews. GRAF PATRICIA J. "PATSY" Age 82, on Saturday, July 4, 2015, of Pittsburgh. Wife of the late Robert O. "Pete" Graf; daughter of the late Catherine and Claude Hardesty; loving mother of Pete (Mandi) Graf and the late Robert O. Graf, Jr., and Pamela J. Graf; grandmother of Jacob Taylor; sister of Ronald (Mary) Hardesty. Patsy was an entertainer and singer that performed in the Pittsburgh area for many years. GARLAND CHARLES ADDISON Charles Addison Garland "Chuck" died peacefully on June 24, 2015, surrounded by his loving and cherished wife, Jacquie, and his sons, Derek and Todd. Chuck was 63. Chuck was born on June 29, 1951, in Pittsburgh, raised in nearby Crescent Township, and graduated from Moon High School. At Moon, he lettered in football and track, earning the title "Moon's Fastest Human." He received a B.A. in History from Westminster College and a Master's in Education from Marymount University. He was a marksman and member of the Secret Service's elite Counter Sniper Support Unit. He also taught history and social studies at Anacostia High School in Washington, D.C. During summers, he coached football and basketball. Chuck is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 41 years, Jacquie; his mother, Margie; sister, Andrea; and brother, Jim; sons, Derek and Todd; loving daughters-in-law, Elizabeth and Katie; and five grandchildren, Thomas, James, Luke, Rylie, and Cooper. GREULICH THOMAS A. Age 90, of Harmar Twp., formerly of Fox Chapel, died suddenly on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Beloved husband of Sally (Bollinger) Greulich; loving father of Thomas A. (Susan) Greulich, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, Elizabeth G. (Kevin) Gilleland of Raleigh, NC and Margaret G. Garland of Ligonier, PA; loving stepfather of Anne (Richard) Vareha of Mars, PA and Edward K. (Deb) Davison of Akron, OH; cherished grandfather of Sarah Ruberto, Mary "Meg" Greulich, Sarah and Olivia Gilleland, Robbie and Tommy Garland; step- grandfather of Olivia Vareha, Kaitlyn Vareha and Kyle Vareha; brother of the late Louis P. Greulich and Margaret G. Hinckley. Tom was a graduate of Shady Side Academy ('43) and Yale University ('49). Between high school and college, he served in World War II as a pilot in the US Army Air Corps (2nd Lt.). He later served as a fighter pilot in the NY Air National Guard (1st Lt.), and was a transatlantic pilot for Pan American Airways. He continued his love of flying as a private pilot throughout his life. Tom founded Greulich, Inc. in 1954. The company had its beginning in the erection of structural steel and soon expanded into heavy machinery installation, pile driving, concrete work and marine work. The company enjoyed its greatest success in the manufacturing and installation of steel grid bridge flooring systems for new and existing bridges. After selling his company, Tom became an Owner/Manger of the Fox Chapel Office Center, and Manager of the Mews II condominium. When he finally retired at 75, Tom continued his regimen of daily exercise and pursued his interests in history, astronomy and current events. He was a voracious reader, and also enjoyed watching the college lecture series, The Great Courses. Tom was an intelligent, humble, loving man of America's Greatest Generation. He was a longtime member of the Duquesne Club and Longue Vue Club. He will be missed dearly. Funeral services will be held privately. Arrangements by WEDDELL - AJAK FUNERAL HOME, Aspinwall. In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Gatehouse; a brother, Amos White; two sisters, Kathyleen Pulkkinen and Mavis Appleton; and a dear friend, Nelda D. Vidt. Left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Shelton and Owen White; a niece, Sharon Anita Phelps; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. GRUBB EDWARD ERNEST Edward was born on January 31, 1964, in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late Dorothy and Edward Powell; and grandson of the late Maggie Lewis. He departed us on June 17, 2015. Left to mourn are his sisters, Linda and Darlene Grubb; his significant other, Annie Stroh; also four sons, Edward, Chaz, Brett and Justin; also eight grandkids; niece, Takeyla and two nephews, Jason and T.J.; followed by a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
