FOY, DUANE
FOY DUANE Age 52, of North Fayette, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 22, 2014. He was born on April 2, 1962, in Cleveland, OH, the son of the late Kenneth W. and Mildred (Markovich) Foy. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Paula; he was the proud father of two children, Bailey and Sydney; brother of Patrick K. Foy. His extended family and friends will miss him as well as his beloved cats, Geno, Crosby, and Maxine. Duane was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan and an unofficial ambassador for the city. While cheering on the Cavs, Browns, and Indians, Duane also strongly supported the Pittsburgh Penguins from section 218 of the Consol Energy Center. There was nothing Duane loved more than spending time with his family and friends, especially when it came to youth hockey. Duane was a hockey coach, manager, and association president over the course of his life. But those are just titles. In reality, Duane was a mentor, leader, and an inspiration to all whom he came into contact with. There was no one more willing to give his time and energy to ensuring the success of anything he touched. One cannot go into a hockey rink in Western Pennsylvania and not know someone he befriended or inspired. He will be extremely missed by all, including his extended hockey family and his West Allegheny Indians hockey team. One more lap on the Zamboni, Duane. Friends will be received on Saturday, December 27, 2014, from 2-8 p.m. in the HUNTSMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MOON TWP., 1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd. Friends are also invited to celebrate Duane's life on Sunday, December 28, 2014, from 2-6 p.m. at St. Columbkille Church of Imperial, 103 Church Road. All other services are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Duane Foy Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is being set up to honor the legacy of Duane and his involvement in youth hockey. Donations should be sent to WAHA, P.O. Box 507, Imperial, PA 15126. www.huntsmanfuneralhomes.com Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
