69, of Camp Hill, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 28, 2007 surrounded by her family. Born June 27, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Helen H. Springer. Arlene enjoyed reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she took great pride in. As a young woman, she was a fashion model for various department stores. She shared 39 wonderful years with her husband Richard J. Alderman, who preceded her in death in 1995. Arlene persevered for many years against a debilitating disease with a lightness of spirit and dignified determination, ever undeterred in her desire to be a loving and supportive wife, mother and friend. She will be missed for her love, generosity, elegance, positive attitude, as well as her strong faith. Surviving are her brother John "Jack" Springer of Pittsburgh, PA; son, Richard J., his wife, Lori, and children, Alexander & Maggie Alderman-Alexander of Pittsburgh; son, James J., his wife, Lisa and daughter, Lindsay of Mechanicsburg; son, Daniel J., his wife, Michele, and children, David & Sydney of Lewisberry, and son, Michael J., his wife, Deborah, and children, Pia, Greta, William & Ethan of Wormleysburg. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that memorial donations be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society-Central Pennsylvania Chapter, 2040 Linglestown Road, Suite 104, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to the National Hospice Foundation, Dept. 6058, Washington, D.C. 20042-6058. Funeral services were held on Monday, March 5th, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3435 Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA. Arrangements were handled by NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA.
