Age 99, formerly of Fox Chapel, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Son of the late Peter and Angeline (Carmen) Casile; beloved husband of Cathy Arenz Casile and the late Pauline (DiGregory) Casile; loving father of Dr. William (Sally Daley) Casile, Gregory (Joann) Casile and David (Roseann) Casile; cherished grandfather of Ivy, Bruno, Lindsay, David, Gregory, and Jon; great-grandfather of Ava and Oliver; stepfather of Thomas (Barbara) Arenz, Michael (Stacy) Arenz, Amy (Daniel) Storer, and Ellen (Drew) Perkins; also survived by 13 step- grandchildren; brother of Joseph (Ann) Casile, and the late Victoria Violi, Frank and Peter; also survived by nieces and nephews. Dr. Casile was Professor Emeritus at Duquesne University. He began his career in education at West Deer High School. Bill was a staff sergeant serving during World War II with the Army and with the 194th General Hospital unit. Bill held numerous volunteer positions including Pennsylvania State Director with the AARP. He enjoyed watching and playing golf and basketball. Friends will be received Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the WEDDELL - AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave., Aspinwall, where a Parting Prayer will be held Saturday at noon, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. in St. Scholastica Church, Aspinwall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project , 301 Grant St., Suite 900 Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
