BASTYR CHARLES W. "CHRIS", Sr.
Age 84, of Harrisville, PA, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice of Butler, PA. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 10, 1928 to Frank A. Bastyr and Agnes (Stasek) Bastyr. He was a graduate of North Catholic High School, Pittsburgh, PA. He was employed at the former Satec of Grove City, PA where he was a department foreman and after retirement he worked various part-time jobs. He was a member of St. Anthony R.C. Church, Forestville, PA. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, a life member of Butler Elks Lodge
and a former member of Grove City Elks, a member of the VFW
of Grove City Post #519, and a member of Harrisville American Legion Post #852, he enjoyed playing cards and gambling, and he was a member of various golf leagues at Pine Grove Golf Course. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force
. He was married to Ruth N. (Wehner) Bastyr on May 17, 1951, she died on May 19, 2004. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl A. Hubbard and her husband, Gary of Grove City, PA; three sons, Charles W. Bastyr, Jr. and his wife, Lydia of Tulsa, OK, Ronald J. Bastyr and his domestic partner, Mark Page of Rancho Mirage, CA and Richard L. Bastyr and his wife, April of Highland Twp., Michigan; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one sister, and one brother. Memorial contributions to VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at JAMISON FUNERAL HOME, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at St. Anthony R.C. Church of Forestville, PA with Rev. Father Kevin G.
