Originally from Pittsburgh and Peters Township, and most recently a resident of Consulate Health Care, North Strabane, age 86, on Sunday, November 4, 2012. She was born March 11, 1926 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Raymond E. and Flora (Grosskopf) Schneider. Beloved husband of 53 years to James J.; loving mother of Jeffrey J. Dean and Molly Dean (Stephen) Bittner, and deceased infants, John Christopher, Mary Margaret, and Jude; grandmother of Robert J. and James D. Bittner; sister of the late Elizabeth C. Miller; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Connie was a teacher, artist, and professional actress. She was a graduate of St. Benedict Academy, Mercyhurst University, and attended graduate school at Duquesne University and earned her Masters Degree in Drama at Catholic University. She taught elementary school in Erie while performing at the Erie Playhouse. Later did summer stock in New England, and was a staff actor at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. She toured Europe and the southeast with the Catholic University Players. She was an erstwhile mother and homemaker. She was an avid golfer and bowler, a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels and Peters Township election polls. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. 724-941-3211.
