Age 77, of Churchill on March 21, 2013. Beloved husband of 50 years to Margaret; beloved father of William Keith (Margaret) of Pittsburgh and Gareth Huw (Janice) of Los Angeles, CA; loving grandpa of Emmett and Hugo Davies of Pittsburgh and Rhys Davies of Los Angeles, CA; brother of Pamela (Alan) Moore of Royston, England. Ken was born in Ammanford, Wales the son of the late William Glanmor and Gladys Davies. Educated at the University of Wales in Swansea with a bachelor and doctorate degrees in physics, Ken worked at the former Westinghouse Research and Development Center in Churchill. Since immigrating to Pittsburgh in 1962, Ken combined a professional scientific career with his love of singing. Ken was a member of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh for 50 years. He performed extensively with the Pittsburgh Savoyards and was the soloist at St. David's Society functions in Pittsburgh and neighboring states. A memorial service will be held at Shadyside Presbyterian Church at a later date to be announced. If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh, 600 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or to the St. David's Society of Pittsburgh c/o Jack Owen, 310 Grant Street, Suite 1030, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 for the continued support of the Welsh Nationality Room at the University of Pittsburgh.
