Of Bethel Park and Canonsburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the age of 61. Dennis is survived by his loving parents, John and Vera Clarke; and sister, Nancy Clarke of Bethel Park. Dennis was a 12-year resident at the Greenery Specialty Care Center of Canonsburg after falling seriously ill in September, 2000. Last week, Dennis took a turn for the worse that required hospitalization on December 1. Dennis passed away peacefully after being ill for so long. Having FSH muscular dystrophy did not deter Dennis from his creative goals. He graduated from Baldwin High School in 1969 with honors, winning several scholastic art awards. In 1972, he received an associate degree in specialized technology from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and also taught Saturday classes for teens at the Art Institute. From 1972 to 1974, Dennis worked as a free-lance artist at various companies and television stations in the Pittsburgh area, winning additional awards along the way. The deterioration in his health stifled his career. However, he began a new chapter at home helping his care-giver parents with whatever matters needed handling. Dennis loved to learn something new whenever an opportunity presented itself as evidenced by the numerous books he read and later, teaching himself to become proficient on the computer. At Denny's request, there will be no public or private visitation. Memorial contributions can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the , the World Wildlife Fund, Animal Rescue League or another . Arrangements are entrusted to JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME.
