75, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Somerset, passed on February 3, 2013 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born July 30, 1937 in Somerset, he is the son of the late Ward and Ruth (Bowman) Egolf. Dr. Egolf is survived by his longtime companion, Sondra Chester of Pittsburgh; sister, Shirley Dumbauld and husband, Carl of Fairport, NY; nephews, Barry, Brent, and Bruce Dumbauld; and niece, Carin Dumbauld; sister, Alice Emert of Somerset; and special nephews, Thomas Scott Emert and wife, Melissa of Annapolis, MD; and Timothy Alan Emert of Colorado Springs, CO; and great-niece, Skylar; and great-nephew, Zachary. Dr. Egolf was a graduate of Somerset High School in 1955. He earned a Doctorate in Communications from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a long-time professor at Pgh., in Communications. He was the author of several books, the latest of which was published in the summer of 2012 and titled: "Human Communication and the Brain". There will be no viewing or visitation at Dr. Egolf's request. A memorial service will be held at a later time. Arrangements by MILLER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, SOMERSET.
