FRANCIS LAWRENCE "FRANK"
Of Pleasant Hills, formerly of West Mifflin, was born on March 16, 1929, and passed away on August 2, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 85 with his adoring family by his side. Loving and devoted husband of Dorothy for 61 years; dearly beloved father to daughters, Deborah (Matthew) Bartek and Annette (Duane) Dearfield; loving proud grandfather of Brian Bartek, Brittney (Brian) Thompson, Kristina (Joshua) Stein, and Janelle Dearfield; brother of John Kudla and many nieces and nephews. He had many dear, loving friends and he cherished his golf buddies. He was the son of the late Jacob and Agnes Kudla. He was predeceased by 11 siblings. Frank was born in Glassport and attended Glassport High School. He was an Army
veteran of the Korean War
. He had a lengthy sales career, was vice president for Newland and Associates, and ultimately established his own manufacturing rep company, Frank Kudla Associates. He ended his career working with his son-in-law, Matt, at Tri-State Industrial Services, retiring at the young age of 79. He loved what he did for a living. Frank was respected and admired by many. He always had a joke to tell and loved to listen to polkas. His wife, Dorothy, was the love of his life. He so cherished his daughters, grandchildren, and their spouses. He was an avid golfer and a former member of Duquesne Golf Club, Youghiogheny Country Club and Westwood Golf Club. He was also a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and American Legion Post 712 in Pleasant Hills. Family vacations in Hilton Head Island were always one of his favorite times. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2603 Old Elizabeth Rd., West Mifflin, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
