CAPO FRANK R.
On Saturday, February 9, 2013, age 91, of Penn Twp. A son of the late Joseph and Guilette (Mastrogiovanni) Capo. He worked in the Civil Conservation Corps stationed in Camp Roosevelt, VA. He was honorably discharged from the service in WWII in the US Coast Guard under the US Navy; fought in the Battle of Letye Gulf during the Liberation of the Philippines; earned the American Area World War II Victory Medals, Asiatic-Pacific Area Camp Medal, with two Bronze Stars
and the Philippine Liberation Medal with one Bronze Star. Frank was a self employed Masonry Contractor with over 35 years service. He carried his strong work ethic over to his children. Husband of the late Mary (Capaldo) Capo; beloved father of Joseph F. (Bonnie) Capo and Robert J. (Lisa) Capo; dear grandfather of Michael and Nick Capo; brother of the late Helen Weiss, Lillian Chudoba, Mike, John, and Carmine Capo; survived by nieces and nephews. Friends received ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding, PA 15148, (412) 824-4332, on Monday from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. Prayer Service in the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Regis R.C. Church at 9:30 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
