GAIL M. (SICA)
Age 76, of Ft. Myers, FL and Murrell's Inlet, SC, formerly of Edina, MN and Mt. Lebanon, PA, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2014, at her home in Florida. Born August 9, 1937, to Dr. Paul A. and Lucile Sica. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Donna Schmidt. Survived by her companion, Bill Mahon; children, Mathew (Gabrielle) McLellan, Paul A. McLellan and Mark (Laura) McLellan; grandchildren, Samantha (Derek), Sabrina, Martine, Chloe, Josie and Alex; and great-grandson, Wilder; sister and brothers, Sallie (Ron) Beumariage, Dr. Paul A. (Trish) Sica, Jr. and Richard V. (Kathie) Sica. Gail was a graduate of Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY and was married to retired 3M Executive, Bill McLellan (residing in Austin, TX). She was a firm believer that we are "all God's children," and advocated for peace and justice her whole life, including one trip in 1985 to Nicaragua to help the poor and protest what she believed was unjust support for the Nicaraguan Contras. She also actively volunteered for the Edina School District to help kids struggling with substance abuse issues. Friends will be welcomed at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216 on Monday, March 24, 2014, from 4-7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Bernard Church on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Two Celebration Life ceremonies will be held in her honor, in Murrell's Inlet, SC at a date to be determined, and Minneapolis, MN, in June of 2014.
