ESPER GEORGE J.
Age 79, of Braintree, Massachusetts, a native of Uniontown, PA, died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, February 3, 2012. He was born on September 16, 1932 in Uniontown, PA, son of the late Michael and Marsha (Barkett) Esper. In addition to his parents, George was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Esper, and Mike Esper, Jr.; four sisters, Ann Mullen, Jeanette Surgenor, Freda Nypaver, and Catherine Coughenour. George was an accomplished journalist
and special correspondent with the Associated Press for over 40 years. He began his career as a reporter with the Herald- Standard and later the Pittsburgh Press, later covering stories and events all over the world. He will be deeply missed by his loving family, and many friends. Left to cherish his memory are three sons, Michael Esper and Thomas Esper who reside in Boston, MA, and George Esper and his wife Sarah of Fountain Valley; his former wife, Nancy Ha of Fountain Valley, CA; three grandchildren, Zowie Esper, Sarah Esper, and Emma Esper; a brother, Thomas Esper of Uniontown, PA; a sister, Rose Jabour of South Bend, IN; and many loving nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, today (Tuesday), February 7, from 5-9 p.m.; Wednesday, February 8, from 5-9 p.m.; and on Thursday, February 9, 2012 until 9:30 a.m. The Divine Liturgy will follow at 10 a.m. in St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 6 Lebanon Terrace, Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Nadim Helou, MLM as Celebrant. Interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA. The Parish Rosary will be held on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
