Gordon M. Bell

On Thursday, January 2, 2003. Age 82, of Pittsburgh, PA; son of the late Harry Gordon and Ethel Moreton Bell; husband of the late Norah McFarland Bell; father of Barbara Carman and her husband, Richard Carman, of Hartford, CT; brother of Joan Hougan of Kamloops, B.C. and the late Graham Bell; brother-in-law of Bess Bell of Richmond, B.C.; also survived by eight nieces and nephews and their families. He was born in Liverpool, England on October 17, 1920 and his family migrated to Vancouver, British Columbia when he was just a boy. Gordon was a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he earned his PhD. in Metallurgical Science. Gordon became a research metallurgist at the Alcoa Corporation and he was a member of The American Institute of Metallurgical Engineering, the Idlers Club and Rodef Shalom Temple. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of service in the Aaron Courtyard of Rodef Shalom Temple, 4905 fifth Avenue, Oakland, where a memorial service will be held Tuesday 11 AM in Levy Hall.
