CROASMUN HOMER EUGENE Jr. "GENE"
Died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, in Birmingham, Alabama. Gene was born May 27, 1934 in Pittsburgh and was the second child of Homer Croasmun, Sr., and Pauline Rogan Croasmun. After graduating from Perry High School, Gene worked for a few years before enlisting in the Army
, where he served in France. Upon his return, Gene obtained a BS in Business from Duquesne University and worked for U.S. Steel, where he remained until his retirement in 1994. Gene married Theresa Ann "Terry" Ventura on June 7, 1958; through the years, the family also lived in Philadelphia, Houston and Alabama. Gene served as president of the Traffic and Transportation Club of Birmingham in 1988, was a golfer and a lifelong fan of the Steelers, for whom he also worked as a statistician from 1957-1975. Gene is survived by his wife; daughters, Jackie Grace, Jolene Worth, and Jeanie Croasmun; grandchildren, Nicke Worth, Alexandra Grace, Zachary Croasmun-Adams, Fox Croasmun-Christensen, and Piper Croasmun-Christensen; and his sister, Pollyanna Kennedy; as well as nieces, nephew and countless friends.
