KING HOMER VANCE, JR.
On Nov. 7, 2013, Homer Vance King, Jr., age 68, of Jefferson Hills, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was the cherished husband of 44 years to Sharon, and the son of the late Homer, Sr. and Bonnie King. Homer was the proud father of Kevin (Kristy) and Kristen (Matthew) Weston as well as the doting Papa to Hannah, Noah, Megan and Ali Rae. He also leaves behind a brother, Danny (Jill); brother-in-law, Keith (Ruth Ann) Lowery and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the loving brother of the late Dale (Dianne) King. Family, God and Country were paramount in Homer's life and he served his country proudly as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a long time member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and the Vice President and Service Officer of the American Legion Post #712 in Pleasant Hills. Visitation will be Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 6 to 8 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, in Pleasant Hills. Funeral service Tuesday 11:30 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church followed by a military interment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
