Age 87, of Plum Boro, on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Beloved husband of 40 years to Linda (Sturdivant) Chandler; father of James Douglas Chandler, Jr., Roxanne (Joe) Martin and Jay Rodney (Tina) Chandler; grandfather of eight; great- grandfather of nine; great-great- grandfather of two; brother of the late Harold Chandler; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Doug began his career as an electrician over 65 years ago in Atlanta, GA and later went on to receive the designation of Journeyman Electrician. He is a member of the IBEW Local #5 and was a proud US Army Air Force veteran having served during WWII. In his spare time, Doug enjoyed restoring and racing cars. Friends received, Saturday, 11:00 a.m. until a service at 1:00 p.m. at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES, LTD./ROTH CHAPEL, 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road), Penn Hills. Interment in Homewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nazarene Baptist Church, 7053 Hamilton Ave., Pgh., PA 15208.
