Age 82, of Murrysville, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014, after living with cancer for over three years. He fought a courageous battle at the end, surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late William Patrick Connor and Elizabeth Smith (Heasley); beloved husband of 56 years to Betty Jane (Weaver); loving father of Cathleen E. Connor of Penn Hills, Christine M. Connor of Oakmont, Julia McMullen (Andrew) Neilly of Murrysville and Jennifer P. (Richard) Marson of Murrysville. James was a devoted grandfather of twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; loving and dedicated older brother to Betty Sue (the late Jerome) Kenna, and William Patrick Connor (Bernadette); also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their children. James grew up in Shadyside, he was a devoted Christian and proud graduate of Central Catholic High School. James served state-side for the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He graduated in '56 with his degree in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Tech. He had an exciting and challenging career for 37 years with ALCOA, as a Sr. Structural Engineer in Project Management, the Construction Division. James was a caring, giving gentleman of much grace and humility. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Family to receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the HART FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3103 Lillian Avenue, Murrysville, PA 15668. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Alban's Anglican Church, 4920 Cline Hollow Road, Murrysville, PA 15668, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
