Dear Blanche & family: I can still see Jack and you on AYH outings. Paddling through rapids with humorous banter. Hiking so you got in shape for backpacking out west. He did resist joining us in the Sinks of Gandy. And I have yet to find volunteers for a repeat of that half mile in Gandy Creek as it flows under a hill west of Spruce Knob WV.
Didn't know that Jack served as a WWII Navy Corpsman "in a Beach Party unit. . .in the Pacific". My uncle, a Navy surgeon, at 96 finally told me about landing right behind the assault waves as US forces island hopped toward Japan. Healthy humor seems to be a great help living with memories of such "beach parties".
Sorry to have heard today of Jack's passing, but happy that you and Jack shared your celebration of life together and with family and friends so long and so well.

Asherman Family, Jack and Blanche have been on our minds recently. We were remembering our ski trips and the fun we had. So many good times with good friends. Jack always made us laugh. I hope Jack and Lynn are telling tall ski tales in Heaven.
