Of Docena, Alabama, passed away at the age of 62 in Birmingham's VA Medical Center on Friday, November 1, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Louis Lawrence Lamar and Evelyn Sudduth Lamar; and brother, Louis Lawrence Lamar, Jr. Julian is survived by his children, Monica D. Lamar of Pittsburgh and Monique D. Sloan of Laurel, MD; and the grandfather of Cason Joseph and Caiden Jai Sloan; six siblings, Barbara Lamar (Ronald D.) Porter of Pittsburgh, PA, Louis Lawrence Lamar, Jr. (deceased) of Docena, Gloria D. Lamar of Fleming Island, FL, Yalonda Givens, Zynobia Bryant of Docena, and Lorraine (Napoleon) Davis of Fairfield, AL. The breadth of the family that will miss him stretches from coast-to-coast, including cities in Georgia, California, Minnesota, Maryland, and Ohio. A viewing and Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013, noon at ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME, 1337 Bessemer Road, Birmingham, Alabama. Immediately following the Service, all guests are invited to share food and memories at the Dawkins House, 27th Street, Ensley, AL. Memorial Services will be held for Julian in Pittsburgh, PA on Veteran's Day, Monday, November 11, 2013, at Second Baptist Church of Penn Hills, 49 Banfield Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15235. Rev. McMahan Gray will deliver the eulogy. Julian's final resting place will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.
