79, formerly of Pittsburgh died at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 in the home of her sister, Jo Ann Paolino of Waynesburg, Pa. after being seriously ill for the past three months. She was a graduate of Perry High School in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Richardson was a veteran of the Korean Conflict
serving with the U.S. Marines Corps., Surviving are her husband, Lester L. Richardson, Sr.; four sons, David M. Richardson of Pittsburgh, Lester L. Richardson, Jr., of Fairbanks, Alaska, Phillip C. Richardson and John W. Richardson both of Holbrook; five daughters, Nance Richardson of Port Richie, Fl., Carol Ann Hurley and Doris Jean Turkovich both of New Salem, Donna Lynn Richardson of Summerfield, Ohio and Media Sarah Richardson of Carlisle; 28 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Also three sisters, Jo Ann Paolino of Waynesburg, Norma G. Hennel of Parma, OH, Sarah Benkart of Pittsburgh, and a brother, Arthur David Benkart of Lower Burrell, PA. Deceased are her parents, Lawrence and Mable Colwell Benkart; four brothers, Lawrence (Barney), David, Ernest and Richard Benkart; a sister, Pola Herman. At the request of the deceased there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 in the Ryerson South Wheeling Baptist Church, Wind Ridge, Pa. A meal and social gathering will follow the service. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 AC Skinner Pkwy, Suite 100, Jacksonville, Fl. 32256.
