A long-time resident of East Pittsburgh, age 96, died peacefully in her sleep on All Souls Day, Friday, November 2, 2012. Maria was born on September 24, 1916 in Turtle Creek. Beloved wife of the late William E. Forgione. Maria will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all. To cherish her memory, she leaves her loving daughters, Maria (Robert) Masley of Monroeville, Donnetta Forgione of Swissvale, Ninetta (David Handza) Forgione of Hempfield, Louise (Charles) Matone of Greensburg, Patricia (Robert) Owens of North Fayette, and Janet (Lawrence) Wei of Sewickley; dear sister of Ada Enger of Nevada and John Raucci of Churchill. Preceded in death by her brothers, Alphonse and Louis Raucci; and her sisters, Louise D'Ambrosio and Teresa Calhoun. Maria is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Maria was a member of the Holy Cross Parish Altar Society and she was a member of Oasis. Maria completed the East Pittsburgh Walk-a-Block and was the oldest finisher. On her 90th birthday, Maria received the Super Senior Award from the East Pittsburgh Civic Association. She loved the outdoors, the changing of the seasons, spending time with her family, cooking, and baking. MARIA MADE THE BEST PIZZA EVER!! Friends welcome on Sunday from 1-7 p.m. at PATRICK T.
