Passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014, with her family by her side. Born September 2, 1923, Carmella grew up on the Northside and became a Pittsburgher for life, later residing in Penn Hills. As the beautiful wife of Vincent James Nese for 71 years, she proved to be an example of enduring love and was the devoted mother of James (Linda), Joseph (Debbie), Richard (Elizabeth), and Paul (Randa) Nese. In addition, she is survived by her brothers, Anthony and Dominic Colisimo. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank and Joseph Colisimo and sister, Theresa Jambrusic. She endearingly loved each and every one of her dear nieces and nephews. As the matriarch of an extensive Italian family, she was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, who all adored her. She enjoyed Sunday spaghetti dinners and looked forward to holiday gatherings where she could play with her great-grandchildren. She remembered everyone's birthdays, and she made each son, daughter-in-law, grandchild, great-grandchild, niece, and nephew feel forever loved. No one was quite like Carmella. She will be sadly missed and adoringly remembered. Friends will be received Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES, LTD./ROTH CHAPEL, 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road), Penn Hills, where a Blessing Service will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
