Maurela J. (Budkowski) Chuderewicz, age 87, formerly of Richland Township, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, while under the care of St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars. Born April 15, 1926, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Martha (Lukowski) Budkowski. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Chuderewicz, who passed away on September 29, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Kerlik of Palmyra, PA; son, Russell Chuderewicz of Lemont, PA; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Kerlik) and Fred Beers of Edinboro, Benjamin (Lisa Rusciolelli) Kerlik, Calbert and Tesia Chuderewicz; and two great-grandchildren, Angus and Lydia Beers. She is also survived by her sister, Grace; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Joseph, she was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and Stephen; brother, Richard; and son-in-law, Andrew Kerlik. Maurela very much enjoyed swimming and diving and dancing to big band music in her younger years. During WWII, Maurela worked in numerous jobs helping to support our troops and was a real life Rosie the Riveter. In her later years, Maurela enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and playing bingo. Maurela's family will welcome friends from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014, at KING FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 2841 Woodland Circle in Allison Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road in Gibsonia. She will be laid to rest in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
