87, of Sarasota, FL, passed away on April 7, at the Benderson Skilled Nursing Facility. Born in Pittsburgh, he lived most of his life in Ambridge and Sewickley, and owned and operated the Ambridge Army & Navy Store for over 40 years. He has lived in Sarasota since the mid-1990s. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Arlene, in Sarasota; and two children, Michael (Eva) Green in Oak Park, CA, and Ellen (Dale) Green Morton in Woodstock, IL; as well as several step-children and grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for April 9, in Sarasota.
