Age 98, died November, 28, 2012, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was formerly a resident of Duquesne, PA and the West Mifflin area. Born November 8, 1914, he was the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Kresak) Banosky. He served in the army in World War II and worked in and retired from the U.S. Steel Duquesne Works. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4210 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 199 in Duquesne. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Marie Palumbo Banosky; stepson, David Palumbo; and step-granddaughter, Jennifer Palumbo. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Jakub and Mary Bajura; his brother, Andrew Banosky; and his step-grandson, Stephen Palumbo. His extended family includes many nephews and nieces. Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 4-9 p.m. at MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 Kennedy Avenue, Duquesne, PA, 412-466-3300. A blessing will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 529 Grant Avenue Ext., West Mifflin, PA, with Rev. Joseph Grosko as celebrant. Burial with full military honors will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
