NELSON J. "FERGY"
Age 93, of Plum, passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side, on Sunday, October 6, 2013. Nelson was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, having served in the US Army at Schofield Barracks on Oahu, Hawaii during the attack by the Japanese, on December 7,1941. He was the loving husband of Joyce (Caldwell) Ferguson; beloved father of Patricia (late Jerry) Sivy, Barbara (Dominick) LaGorga, and Sheila (Donald) Rothrauff; grandfather of Eric (Nicole) LaGorga and Ashley LaGorga, Derek, Drew and Corie Rothrauff; and great-grandfather of Lena LaGorga. He is survived by brothers and sisters, Ralph (Lucy), Constance (late Lester) Gindlesperger, Ramsey (Flo), Robert (late Liz), Janet (Frank) Coates, Ted (late "Poppy"), and Kenneth (Pat). He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson "Carney" and Christine (Ramsey) Ferguson; and brothers, John (surviving spouse Lucille), William (late Ann), and Clark. Nelson retired from US Steel Research in Monroeville after 36 years. He continued to work after his retirement as a school bus driver/aide for the Plum Borough School District for 8 years. He worked for more than 30 years at the Churchill Valley Country Club. He followed that by working for Vector Security until he was 90. Nelson was a member of Infinity Lodge #546 F&AM, Royal Arch Chapter #268, Liberty Valley Council #50, Duquesne Commandery #72, Syria Shrine in Cheswick, Springdale Chapter #453, Order of the Eastern Star, Corinthian Court #35, Order of Amaranth, Plum American Legion Post #680, and the Penn Plum VFW
