Age 88, of Franklin Park, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (McLaughlin) Lindley; loving father of Karen Lindley, Colin Lindley of Charlotte, NC and Clayton (Melissa) Lindley of Cincinnati, OH; grandfather of Thomas, Matthew and Joshua Lindley. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Emily (Bayes) Lindley; as well as two sisters, Elizabeth Barnes and Catherine Jarrell. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the European theatre where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a proud alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a letterman in track and was later a member of the Golden Panthers Alumni Assoc. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Oliver Iron and Steel, Union Spring and Manufacturing and Duer Spring. Friends will be received on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1032 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp., 412-364-4444. No visitation Sunday. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
