Passed peacefully at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 after a valiant two-year struggle with cancer. Bob was born on October 12, 1934 in New Britain, Connecticut to Martin and Jessie Niedzwiecki. An only child, he attended and graduated from the University of Connecticut. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S. Battleship USS Floyd B. Parks. His professional career began in the insurance industry with the Erie Insurance Company. A few years afterwards, with the full support of his wife Annamarie, he decided to pursue what always had been his strong desire: a career in law. He applied and was accepted into the Duquesne University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in Law. His legal career included significant accomplishments. Bob attained Senior Partner status at one of Pittsburgh's prestigious law firms Meyer Darragh, Buckler, Bebenek & Eck. He litigated against General Motors and their vast legal resources. His nature assured each client was treated as personal and unique. After a long successful tenure, he left the large firm environment in order to establish his own practice with a partner. Located in Greensburg, he continued to provide genuine, high value legal representation until his retirement. Bob's personal family life began with meeting and marrying Annamarie Tkac. This April would have been their 50th anniversary. They have two daughters, Karen (Nedwick-Castro) and Amy (Meinert); two son-in-laws, Ric Castro and Kurt Meinert; as well as three grandchildren, Kyle (12), Brooke (10) and Brett (7) Meinert. Bob was looking forward to his fourth grandchild, Dylan Robert Castro, who is to be born in three weeks. Bob was a voracious reader, greatly enjoyed the occasional poker game with good friends and closely followed most sports. Bob's lifelong love and focus has always been his family. He loved attending his grandchildren's events, loved to take family vacations, loved debating sports, business and politics with his sons-in-law, loved supporting and guiding his daughters. Bob was the pillar of the family, and he will be missed ~ But most of all, he will be remembered. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS, 724-941-3211.
