Robert H. Hodges

73, of Bethel Park, Pa. died at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in the HCR Manor Care in Bethel Park after a lengthy illness. He was a 1953 graduate of Carnegie High School and was employed as an administrator with IBM in the Pittsburgh office for 35 years. Mr. Hodges was peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard and the Air National Guard. He served as a judge of elections in Bethel Park for several years. Surviving are his former wife and companion of the past 10 years, Vi Hartman of Holbrook; a son, J. Andrew Hodges of Holbrook; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Hodges of Bellevue area of Pittsburgh. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the RUSH FUNERAL HOME, INC. Rogersville, Pa. where services and committal will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 with Pastor Ben Williamson officiating. Interment will be private in the Bethel Cemetery, Bethel Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Valley Chapel U.M. Church or the Gideon Society. Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by the American Legion Post 330, V.F.W. Post 4793 and the D.A.V. Post 123 all of Waynesburg and representatives of the U.S. Army.
