SAVERIO J. "BABE"
Age 95, of Bell Acres, formerly of Coraopolis, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014, at Villa St. Joseph. He was born in Coraopolis on Sept. 11, 1918, to the late Saverio and Vittoria (Romano) DePace. On Oct. 30, 2002, he was preceded by his beloved wife of 61 years, Charlotte "Chiv" A. (Hobin) DePace; beloved father of Gemma Jane DePace of Clarksville, TN, David S. (Nancy) DePace of Bell Acres, Nanci (the late Robert) Kleinhans of Moon Township, Dennis A. (Christine) DePace of Sewickley, Daniel C. (Margie) and Richard D. (Jeanmarie) DePace both of Bell Acres; grandfather of Lisa McGraw, Debbie (Jason) Roper, David (Dana) DePace, Robert (Terri) Kleinhans, Christopher (Jane) Kleinhans, Jonathan, Michael, Ashley, Abigail and Vitoria DePace, Stefanie Bianculli, Jeffrey Schulmeister; 15 great- grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; brother of the late Joseph, Anthony, Nunziato, Rocky and Valentine DePace, Yolanda, Delina, Josephine and Immaculata DePace; brother-in-law of Valerie DePace of Bridgeville; uncle to special niece, the late Shirley Buyaki and other nieces and nephews. Babe was a steelworker for both Continental and Blaw Knox. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of St. James Church, CCC Club, and a life-long member of Sewickley YMCA. Babe was a great vegetable gardener, loved horse racing and was an avid baseball fan. Visitation Sunday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at COPELAND'S CORAOPOLIS, 867 Fifth Ave., where prayers will be recited on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by Mass at St. James Church at 10 a.m. Father Thomas J. Burke, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations to Villa St. Joseph, 1030 State St., Baden, PA 15005 will be appreciated. The family wishes to thank the staff on the Carondelet Unit and Dr. David Thimons for their wonderful care.
