Age 89, of Castle Shannon, on Friday, April 4, 2014. Husband of the late Dorothy "Dot" (Vogelsberger) Kirk; devoted father of Candace "Candy" (Lou) Hoffman, Marybeth (Tony) Kress, and Ted (Paula) Kirk; loving grandfather of Nathan, Caulen, Libby, Kellyn, Edward, and Wendy; great-grandfather of Liam, Adeline, Finn, Josh, Logan, E.J., Vivian, and Harrison; also survived by nieces and nephews. Ted was a veteran during WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a Castle Shannon councilman for 30 years, member of CSVFD for 50 years, member of St. Anne Parish and started the ethnic food drive, and he also started the holiday giving program for Castle Shannon and was given the key to Castle Shannon and Ted Kirk Day was declared on September 12, 2005. Ted enjoyed his cottage in Conneaut Lake. Friends will be welcomed at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, INC., 1008 Castle Shannon Blvd., Castle Shannon, TUESDAY 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne Church, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment St. Anne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anne Church, 400 Hoodridge Drive, Pgh., PA 15234.
