THERON E. "TED" AIKEN Jr.

AIKEN THERON E. "TED", JR.
68, of Carnegie, PA, formerly of Moon Twp., on Tuesday February 19, 2013. Son of the late Theron E. Aiken, Sr. and the late Eleanor Kimes Aiken; loving husband and best friend of Barbara (Narcolli) Aiken; father of Mark Aiken of Moon Twp. and Elaine Aiken of Allentown, PA; brother of Sandy (the late Ed) Loyer of Ann Arbor, MI, Debbie (Bill) Myers of Chesapeake, VA and Jeff Aiken of Pittsburgh; brother- in -law of Chris and Sal Gaetano and Regina "CheChe" and Kenneth Winkler; also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great- nieces and great-nephews. Ted was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh for both his bachelors and masters degrees. He went on to teach Advanced Placement English at Moon Area High School (from which he retired after 35 years) and Allegheny Community College. He also served in the U.S. Air Force and in the PA Air National Guard, Ted loved the sport of wrestling and coached many wrestling teams over the years, as well as serving as a PA Interscholastic Athletic Association Referee. Ted's hobbies included music, songwriting, playing the guitar (which he performed locally), woodworking and golf which he enjoyed playing with his friends and colleagues. Friends may call at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, THURSDAY 2-4 and 6-8PM. A service to celebrate Ted's life will be held in the funeral home chapel Friday at 11AM. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243
