ADAMS TWYLA HOLBEN
Age 84, of Ross Township, formerly of Bellevue passed away peacefully on July 10, 2007. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bruce L. Adams; son, Dennis L. Adams of Radnor, PA; two daughters, M. Diane Adams of Gibsonia, PA and Debra Adams Fitzgerald of Atlanta, GA; granddaughters Veronica Adams Tirpak, husband Bernie of Monroeville, PA, and Laura and Emily Fitzgerald of Atlanta, GA; great granddaughter Maya Grace Tirpak; and a brother James Holben of Upper St. Clair, PA. She was preceded in death by her siblings John, Grace, Glendora, Pearl and Dean and son-in-law James J. Fitzgerald. Born in Chicora, PA, Twyla also lived in Butler and Slippery Rock before moving to Bellevue in 1945. She was the editor of her high school and college newspapers in Slippery Rock and was active in student government. She taught elementary school for 23 years in Bellevue and Northgate School Districts. She attended many Bellevue High School Basketball and football games as her son played, her daughters cheered and her husband coached. She enjoyed her bridge club friends. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spent winter in Bonita Springs, FL where she took up golf as a senior citizen. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. Friends received Thursday 6 to 8 PM, Friday 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM, Saturday 9 to 11 AM until time of Service at ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1014 California Avenue, Avalon. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the memorial fund at Bellevue United Presbyterian Church, 457 Lincoln Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15202.
