Of Pitcairn, age 81, on Thursday, July 25, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Isabel L. (Barr) Egan for 53 years; loving father of Robert Egan of Avonmore, Bruce (Donna) Egan of North Huntingdon, Edward Egan, William (Diane) Egan of South Fayette and the late Daniel Egan; father-in-law of Sharon (Eric) Wallhausen of North Huntingdon; grandfather of Benjamin and Bethany Egan, Kimberly, Brian and Dale Egan; Ashley Egan, Melissa, Nicole and Connor Egan; great-grandfather of Austin, Isabella and Levi; brother of Rose (Dan) Smicik, Joan (Jerry) Bronder and the late Edward (Laverne) Egan. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Bill was a Korean War era Army veteran and a proud retired carpenter from LTV Steel, Hazelwood plant. He was a volunteer with the Pitcairn Meals-on-Wheels program and was a member of the Pitcairn American Legion. With his carpentry skills, Bill enjoyed woodworking and even built his own home in 1960. He was always willing to help family and friends in their home projects and also helped his son build his home. Friends welcome Friday 2-8 p.m. at PATRICK T.
