On May 1, 2013, William Carpenter, of Newtown Square, age 88. He was the beloved husband of Patricia E. Carpenter, who preceded him in death in 2008; loving father to Susan Carpenter Priester of Greenville, SC and Jane Carpenter Valdes-Dapena of Media, PA; proud grandfather to Anna Priester of Cape May, NJ and Reimer Priester of Detroit, MI. A World War II veteran and native of Pittsburgh, PA, Mr. Carpenter worked for 35 years for PPG Industries. He lived in Arizona for 22 years before moving to White Horse Village in 2003. His lifelong passion was music, especially jazz. The family will be receiving friends from 2-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 5 at White Horse Village in Newtown Square. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities, 1048 Washington Street, PO Box 340, Cape May, NJ, 08204.
