On Sunday, March 23, 2003, at his home, age 91, beloved father of Terry R. Beal of Jefferson, ME, Nancy Lord Beal of New York, NY, Jean Robinson Beal of Albany, NY and Peter Bennett Beal of Pittsburgh. William G. Beal, a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, has worked as a radio actor and Continuity Chief on KDKA radio, an account executive for Walker and Downing advertising in the Radio Department, and a writer-producer for Mode-Art Pictures. While at Mode-Art Pictures, Beal wrote, researched and helped to produce a series of training films on the use of carbide tools. During World War II these films were sent to Russia to help them gain an understanding of these new tools, which were important in machine-tool technology. Beal developed his own production company, Packaged Programs Inc., in 1947. This company developed radio programs for national syndication and local sponsorship in Pittsburgh. In 1949, this company produced "Pitt Parade - the Picture Story of the Pittsburgh Scene," a five minute news program for television that aired daily at 10:00 PM on WDTV (now KDKA television). In 1952, Beal sold Packaged Programs Inc. and began another production company named William G. Beal Inc. From 1952 to 1992, this company produced films and videos on the fields of industry, education, and entertainment. Funeral arrangements private. Arrangements by H. SAMSON, INC.
