Age 87, of Pleasant Hills, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Beloved husband for 59 years to Dolores "Dolly" Palmer; loving father of Linette Evancic, Debbie Schmidt, Darlene (Thomas) Wehmer, and Judi (Scott) Tracy; cherished grandfather of nine; and great-grandfather of eight; also survived by his sister, Sally Sneider; and many nieces and nephews. William honorably served in WWII in the Marine Corps, and was employed at Duquesne Light for 42 years. Bill was a pioneer Nascar driver in the 1950s, an avid hockey player and fan, speed-skater, and bowler. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-9 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary.
