ELI BERGER Obituary
On Wednesday, June 16, 2010; Beloved husband and best friend of Eileen Berger. Beloved father of Alan Berger of Las Vegas, NV, Howard Berger of Los Angeles, CA and Steven (Betsy) Berger of Philadelphia. Adoring Zede of Barrie Rebecca, Joshua Maxwell and Liam Alexander Berger. Dear brother of Joseph (Betty) Berger of Atlanta, GA. Survived by special sister-in-law, June Labovitz and brother-in-law, Gilbert Solomon, nieces, nephews and cousins. After graduating Peabody High School, Eli enlisted in the Navy. When the war was over, he attended Rochester Institute of Printing and graduated from Carnegie Mellon Printing Management School. He joined his father Max and brother Joe in the family business, Berger Printing. Services at RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL, INC., 5509 Centre Ave., Shadyside on Friday at 1 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services, (12 Noon - 1 PM). Interment Machsikei Hadas Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Make-a-Wish Foundation, 707 Grant St, 37th Floor, Pgh., PA 15219 or a charity of the donor's choice.

Eli was a 1st cousin to my mother, Merle Berger Lubisch.
I moved away from PGH at 24. Most of my memories are
actually stories from my mother. Joe & Eli's father, Max,
was a brother to my mom's father (my zeideh Shlomo)
Eli was a handsome fellow with a "sweet face", as I
remember. And Eli dressed well, with a flare. A kind
and gentle man.
I'm posting here to "mark" Eli's 11th Yahrzeit
with Eileen and all her family. It's hard to
imagine that 11 years have gone by already
since Eli (OBM) passed.
"As long as we live, Eli lives in our hearts
and minds". May Eli's neshama, in merit
of good deeds & charity, rest eternally in
Gein Eiden.
I hope & pray all the family is continuing
well. If anyone would like to say "hello"
by phone, my name/ phone # comes up
readily on Google search.

I remember Eli as a warm friendly older cousin, more like an uncle. He was always genuine open, and respectful. As a teenager, I also worked at the printing company for him. He was a fair boss and treated people well. I will alway remember him. Condolences from my family.

Dear Eilleen / Family . . In my mind's eye cousin Eli is a handsome man with a warm smile as I remember him when I left Pgh in 1974.
My mother , Merle , my uncle Bernard , have included Eli in many family stories from ' way back when ' . In old photos , I thought Eli and cousin Al Shapiro shared a resemblance . My thoughts / prayers are with you .
May his memory be a blessing .

Were very sorry to hear of cousin Eli passing. I know you two had special love of each other and family. I am in Maryland and won't be home until Monday. I assume Betty is in NY. I spoke with Barbara. Eli was a very special guy and as a childhood friend we spent many hours together. Always sweet and humble with a special smile and friendly Manor. I am glad your family is with you.
