Of Brookline, suddenly on Saturday, August 3, 2013. Beloved son of James P. and Denise L. "Dee" (Perlik) Sheridan; brother of Amanda Sheridan and Lee Michael Wilson; grandson of Helen and the late Joseph Perlik and the late Rita May and Walter Sheridan; also many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Friends may call at THE FRANK F. DeBOR FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1065 Brookline Blvd., 412-561-0380, Monday 6-8 and Tuesday 2-8. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Resurrection. Funeral prayer Wednesday morning at 9:15. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spina Bifida Fdt.

Zach's family, I don't know you well to even say I know you at all; we had the privilege of tailgating with you one time at an SRU game. As a mom, I can't help but grieve with you over Zach's death. I wish you did not have to endure this pain. On Zach's facebook page someone posted a verse from John - Chapter 15, verse 13: Greater love hath no man than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. Your son died a hero. I know it can't take away your pain but take as much comfort as you can in the fact that you raised an awesome boy that did the right thing. As parents that should always be the goal and you succeeded. We will continue to pray for your strength during this tragic time.

I did not know Zachary personally but I meet him a few weeks ago at a golf outing. He was very personable and funny. We all enjoyed the comic relief that he and his friends provided that day. We were so sad to hear the tragic news. My sincerest sympathies to his friends and family.

When I think back to all of the kids I knew growing up in Brookline, Zach stands out as one of the very best. He always treated me wonderfully and was a pleasure to be around. I had the pleasure of going to high school for 4 years with Zach. The kid was amazing, had the best laugh and the best sense of humor and was such a good person, loved hanging out with him and trusted him completely. Just one of those kids that kind of loves you with his entire heart and everybody wants to be around. He gave me the nickname Gumby and we pulled off the Senior Prank together in high school, but I have so many good memories of him. I am currently deployed overseas and will miss the huge gatherings that I know are taking place to help remember Zach. His family and my friends are in my prayers.
