Formerly of Bethel Park, PA, died on Monday, March 12, 2012. Dominic was born on January 16, 1925 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Angelo and Geneva Fraterelli Pitocco. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deloris; a twin brother, Tony Pitocco; a brother, Jimmy Pitocco; and his sister, Jelsey Johnston, Dominic was a WWII US Navy Veteran. He served on the USS John Dickinson and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He retired after 40 years of service with the Pittsburgh Housing Authority as a stationary engineer. He was a member of St. Valentine Church. Dominic was an avid gardener and wood worker, and enjoyed playing cards and bingo, but the joy of his life was spending time with his loving wife of 63 years, Rita Heckman Pitocco. In addition to his wife Rita, he is also survived by his sons, Paul (Roseanne) Pitocco of Bethel Park, Daniel (Marlene) Pitocco of Lake Stevens, Washington, Michael (Sharron) Pitocco of Bakersfield, California, Dennis (Ali) Pitocco of Tampa, Florida, Nick (Lisa) Pitocco of Gambrills, Maryland, and his daughters, Rita Pitocco of Kent, Washington, and Mary (Ray) Heath of Freeport, Florida. Dominic was grandfather to 16 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Friends will be received at JOHN SLATER FUNERAL HOME, 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday visitation will be at 11 a.m. with the blessing service at 12 noon at the funeral home.
